Join us for the Annual Norwegian Sankthans/Midsummer Picnic
in Front Royal on June 22 at 4 PM to dusk. Please RSVP below by June 19
Norwegian Society of Washington DC is excited to announce that we will be celebrating Sankthans at a new venue this year. NOSO member Evine Eriksson has graciously invited us to her beautiful farm outside Front Royal. At her farm, Evine will be able to share with us the long lineage of Norwegian ownership of her family’s land. She also has a beautiful, stocked pond, and she has invited us to bring our fishing poles if we would like to relax and cast a line.
Norwegian Society will provide water and sodas. As in years past, we invite you to bring your favorite picnic foods to enjoy. Please also be aware that this event is outside, and it is a good idea to bring sunscreen, bug repellant, comfortable outdoor chairs, and/or a blanket. Our member Melvin Kvamme has prepared a wonderful bonfire which will be lit at dusk. It will truly be a sight to be seen!
Feel free to bring your children, grandchildren, and/or friends, but please make sure to let us know how many people will be in your party when you sign up online.
